Folia is a document and e-book reader made by an independent developer (chirpet.com). This policy explains what happens to your information when you use Folia.
The short version
Folia does not collect, store, share or sell any personal data. There are no accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking.
Your files
Books, documents, archives, images and media you import stay on your device, inside Folia's own folder (visible in the Files app) and in your own device backups.
Reading positions, bookmarks, highlights and notes are stored only on your device.
All file formats are opened and processed on your device. Text recognition (OCR), translation and AI summaries use Apple's on-device frameworks; your documents are never uploaded anywhere.
Network access
Folia connects to the internet only:
to contact the App Store when you view prices, purchase or restore a subscription (handled by Apple; Folia only learns whether a purchase is active);
to load web content (such as images or links) that a document you open refers to, or when you tap a link that leaves the app.
Photos and Face ID
Folia asks for permission to add pictures to your photo library only when you choose "Save to Photos". It never reads your library.
If you turn on App Lock, Face ID / Touch ID / passcode verification is performed by iOS. Folia never sees your biometric data.
Children
Folia does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children.
